Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) had served the business very well for many years, but as the server hardware they maintained in their office began to age, the effects were felt by staff in slow processing times for even simple requests. Maintaining that hardware was also becoming an added burden as it began to struggle with software updates, security patches and available storage space. The discontinuation of SBS was the trigger that prompted Tim to look into the available alternatives to their entire IT setup.
